Frequently Asked Questions

bulletHow old must I be to be tattooed or pierced?

You must be 18 years old or older to be tattooed and  16 or 17 years old (with parent or legal guardian) or 18 and older to be pierced.

bulletDo you use new needles?

Yes, we use new needles for tattooing and piercing that have been autoclave sterilized. Other equipment such as the tattoo tubes and all piercing instruments are also autoclave sterilized before use.

bulletDo tattoos hurt?

Getting a tattoo is not as painful as most people expect it to be, it is more of an annoying discomfort that a horrible pain. Yes, some areas are more tender than others, but the discomfort is manageable if you're getting what you really want, where you want it.

bulletHow long will a tattoo take to heal?

With proper care, tattoos will usually take about two weeks to heal.  We carry aftercare products to purchase for your tattoo and piercing.

bulletHow do you care for a new tattoo?

We recommend that a new tattoo be bandaged for two hours.  After that time, remove the bandage and wash the tattooed area with warm water, mild soap and your hands (Do not use wash clothes or scrub brushes). Pat dry and apply the recommended ointment. We recommend Tattoo Goo but other ointments that can be used are A&D ointment, Neosporin or a triple antibiotic ointment. Apply only a VERY THIN coat of ointment a few times a day for two weeks.  DO NOT pick or scratch at the tattoo, if it itches apply a little ointment or slap it to relieve the itch. DO NOT swim, soak or suntan for at least two to three weeks.  After your new tattoo heals you should use a sunblock any time your tattoo is exposed to the sun or tanning bed.

bulletDo I need an appointment?

Appointments are not always needed but recommended especially during the weekend.  We DO NOT take appointments over the phone, only in person and we require a $20 deposit. The reason for this is we need to see what is going to be tattooed so that we may determine the proper amount of time to allow for the appointment and the $20 deposit helps to insure that you will return for your appointment and not waste our artists valuable time.  If you do not show for your appointment and do not call to cancel, you will loose your deposit.

bulletCan I bring in my own design?

You can bring in any type of design work you like such as your own drawing, something from a book or magazine, off the internet, a photo, etc. We can also custom design something for you based on your ideas or reference material.  We require a 50% deposit on all custom work.

bulletCan I smoke while getting tattooed?

NO, we do not allow smoking in the tattoo parlor so that we can keep a cleaner and more sanitary shop. During medium and larger tattoos you and the artist will take a break and you can smoke on our enclosed front porch so you don't have to go outside.

bulletCan I bring my children into the shop?

This is a tattoo shop and not a playground! We DO NOT allow anyone under the age of 16 in our tattoo shop at any time. They have no need to be here so, please do not bring children. Under no circumstances will we tattoo or pierce your minor children, so don't even ask!

bulletWhat forms of payment do you take?

We accept Cash and Personal Checks only.

bulletHow much do tattoos cost?

Tattoos start at $50 and go up. We can not give quotes over the phone because we need to see a piece before we can give an accurate quote. The cost of tattoos is determined by size, detail, color, placement of tattoo and the work involved in doing the tattoo.

Good work is not cheap but cheap work is not good!
